Sunshine Services Launches Transition Fund to Support 24 Individuals Following Sunshine Industries Program Closure
Following recent coverage of the upcoming closure of the Sunshine Industries manufacturing program, Sunshine Services is inviting the community to help support the 24 individuals impacted as they transition into new employment opportunities.
While the Sunshine Industries program will conclude operations on February 27 due to federal compliance regulations, Sunshine Services remains fully operational and committed to ensuring every individual affected receives personalized support and guidance during this transition.
To provide that support, Sunshine Services has launched a $25,000 Transition Fund, which averages approximately $1,000 per individual to fully support employment transition services.
“For many of the individuals we serve, this program has been more than a workplace — it’s been a community,” said Kelsie Crittendon, Executive Director of Sunshine Services. “Our focus now is ensuring each person has a clear path forward that aligns with their goals, strengths, and interests.”
In the coming weeks, Sunshine Services will conduct individualized “circle of support” meetings with each participant and their family. These meetings will guide the development of personalized transition plans that may include:
- Community-based job placement
- One-on-one job coaching
- Résumé building and interview preparation
- Transportation coordination
- Ongoing employment support services
The $25,000 fundraising goal will directly support these efforts:
- $1,000 fully supports one individual’s employment transition
- $5,000 supports five individuals
- $10,000 underwrites expanded coaching and placement services for the group
“This moment is not just about a program ending,” Crittendon said. “It’s about making sure no one loses their sense of purpose or belonging. We are committed to walking alongside each individual as they take their next step.”
